Baer's Pochard (Aythya baeri) is a species of diving duck native to East Asia. It was first described by Russian naturalist Georg Steller in 1758 during his expedition to Kamchatka Peninsula. The species is named after Karl Ernst von Baer, a Baltic German naturalist.
