Overview

Computer chips are considered to be the brains that power all the modern electronic devices. They are present in all devices like smartphones to fighter jets. The United States used to build a lot of the computer chips earlier but now has largely exported this activity to Asian manufacturers. The US administration considers this as one of the major economic and national security risks, because currently, it has no way to create computer chips of its own. There are new government subsidies which are currently being created aimed at restructuring the manufacturing supply chain of computer chips so that they can again be made in the United States.
